Responsibilities:

• Assist the veterinarian in exam rooms and use veterinary software for documenting medical notes
• Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement
• Obtain laboratory sample collection, process and ideally be able to interpret results (fecal/parasite analysis, ear cytology, skin cytology, urinalysis, blood smears)
• Perform diagnostic imaging using proper positioning and safety techniques
• Administer vaccines and medications (oral, topical, injectable)
• Fill prescriptions and review directions with clients
• Communicate with clients in a positive and efficient manner, educate and counsel them on preventive health care, behavior problems, dental care, and nutrition.
• Provide compassionate patient care
