Metropolitan Animal Specialty Hospital is a 24-hour specialty and emergency veterinary hospital located in Hollywood, California. We offer specialty and emergency services and have a team of board-certified veterinarians specializing in oncology, dentistry, nutrition, surgery, internal medicine, ophthalmology, cardiology, dermatology, neurology, and emergency and critical care.

Veterinary Technician

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years as a credentialed veterinary technician. Veterinary Assistants will also be considered. VTS or VTS eligible technicians are strongly encouraged to apply. Candidates should be able to work independently and under busy schedules. You should also be comfortable discussing medications, and treatments with clients as well as following up with their inquiries. Candidates should be professional, friendly, courteous, able to multi-task as well as have basic computer skills, organizational skills, and excellent communication skills. Expected abilities

• IV Catheter placement
• Venipuncture
• Urinary catheter placement
• Proficient in triage
• IV/IM injections
• Patient restraint
• Medically able to take radiographs
• Physically able and WILLING TO lift up to 40 lbs.
• Able to perform medical math (basic algebra)
• Monitoring anesthesia
• Willing to possibly work overtime
• Cleaning the department
• Laundry
• Know normal vital signs for canines and felines
• Stocking
• Working in close quarters
• Strong Communication Skills
• Stocking the department
• Assisting the doctor with physical exams

COVID-19 considerations:
Currently, clients are not allowed into our facility and all staff must wear masks. Temperature checks occur daily. and staff must step into Clorox foot baths upon entering the facility from the outside. We also have face shields for staff upon request.

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Veterinary: 1 year (Preferred)
