POSITION SUMMARY:

The Vice President, LCMC Cancer Center will be responsible for overseeing the finances and administration of the emerging LCMC Oncology Service Line across the entire enterprise. The Vice President, LCMC Cancer Center will work closely with providers, nursing, and administrative leadership to standardize and enhance business practices related to the delivery of care for patients of the LCMC Cancer Center. In addition to developing a premier cancer service line with comprehensive clinical, ancillary and support services, the role will be instrumental to the pursuit of NCI designation with LSU. In partnership with the LSU Cancer Center Associate Director for Administration, the Vice President, LCMC Cancer Center will be charged with creating and sustaining a high performing integrated administrative infrastructure for the Cancer Center.

The Vice President, LCMC Cancer Center will work collaboratively with a team of key clinical and administrative executives who together are charged with full responsibility and accountability for advancing and supporting all aspects of the quadruple aim as they relate to the oncology population served by Louisiana Children’s Medical Center. This executive will have a highly valued matrix working relationship with the Cancer Center Director. Along with an extended team of clinical and administrative colleagues, these leaders will be charged with the full clinical, academic, research and oncology business enterprise. LCMC, has committed $75 million in funds and anticipates further investments to build the clinical and research enterprise over time. The Vice President, LCMC Cancer Center will be charged with overseeing the full oncology business enterprise and maintaining a premier academic adult cancer clinical service line that is a regional market leader and on par with NCI-designated cancer centers around the country.

Responsible for implementing the directives of senior leadership in the management of business aspects of strategic planning, clinical staffing, space and resource allocation, educational and other regulatory activities. This will include driving analytics and modeling for potential business development activities including scenario planning.

Create and monitor dashboards of key performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance. This leader will also conduct complex modeling, analysis with scenarios, to influence decisions around strategic initiatives.

Formulate strategies to meet financial goals and objectives for Oncology Service Line. The Vice President, LCMC Cancer Center will lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process. They will also conduct annual 5-year forecast and updates as required throughout the fiscal year. They will partner with the LCMC financial operations team on monthly, quarterly, and annual closing and reporting processes.
Prepare and deliver financial management/budget variance reporting with clear communication around business drivers and future implications for Oncology Service Line.

The Vice President, LCMC Cancer Center will work with the Senior Director, Operations to drive continuous improvement within the Oncology Service Line to streamline processes and improve communication and flow of information to the Cancer Center’s stakeholders.
