SUMMARY: The Business Development Manager is responsible for new business development, making brand building strategies and identification of potential market segments. They are also in charge of revenue generation through Paint, Body & Equipment new account development and key account management.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Increase sales opportunities and maximize revenue

  • Develop meaningful business relationships with a wide variety of Customers and develop those relationships into a solid, long lasting partnership with local garages, fleets and municipalities.

  • Identify and take advantage of opportunities for product expansion within the district that lead to an increase in sales.

  • Monitor customer needs, and work with purchasing, operations and President to identify new product opportunities that add value to the customer relationship.

  • Present new products and services and enhance existing Customer relationships.

  • Support, motivate and provide training to employees to maximize sales, and build partnerships with customers.

  • Make cold calls to meet weekly targets.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of customer needs and tailor approach to individual customers.

Provide exceptional levels of service to customers:

  • Support a customer centric mindset that ensures our customers are serviced in a manner that makes them feel they are heard, appreciated, and part of the family.

  • Maintain travel schedule to customers and actively assist customers with parts and competitive pricing.

  • Serve as in-the-field problem solvers and promptly resolves customer issues, including proper paint and body repair procedures including new products and equipment available.

  • Communicate effectively with customers on a wide variety of issues including orders, delivery, returns, cores and collections.

  • Assist store team members in resolving issues to meet and exceed customer service expectations.

  • Represent Walker Auto Stores with passionate customer care and follow up and present a professional appearance when calling on customers.

  • Represents the Company and NAPA brand with integrity to customers, associates and business partners.

  • Provide training to customers to utilize appropriate computer software effectively.

  • Drive company-wide definition of ideal customer experience.

Manage Sales Administration and Expenses

  • Wash & Maintain Vehicle appearance.

  • Timely submit Vehicle reports & maintenance.

  • Attend and participate in Sales Meetings.

  • Continuously develop product and service knowledge

  • Understand and promote NAPA and Walker Store programs.

  • Participate in NAPA training, online and in-person.

  • Stay up to date on all services, products and parts available through Walker Auto Stores.

Education and/or Experience:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required

  • A four year business related degree preferred or equivalent business experience.

  • Relevant sales and industry experience

License/Certification: Valid NC Driver’s License

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Sales and Marketing — Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling Paint, Body & Equipment products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product knowledge, sales techniques, and sales control systems.

  • Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

  • English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

  • Administration and Management — Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

  • Communications and Media — Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods, including written, oral, and visual media.

  • Computers and Electronics — Knowledge of and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming. Proficient using Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
