What You’ll Do:
Maintain and organize food commodities warehouse while monitoring product for expiration and proper inventory as directed. Work on an assembly line process to pack and distribute commodities boxes. Distribute commodities and transport them to sites in (11) eleven counties. Assist in the completion of inventory forms, receiving forms and supply information for reporting monthly to funding source. Support other Client Service programs as requested.
  • Assist in the packing and distribution of the CSFP and TEFAP Program Commodities using an assembly line process;
  • Lift and stack 50 pound boxes on pallets, five (5) tiers high repetitiously
  • Monitor product expiration dates as required and inform Supervisor of product nearing expiration;
  • Maintain knowledge of and monitor current products ensuring correct packaging of product for distribution;
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records;
  • Assist in keeping product rotated in the warehouse and cooler;
  • Notify supervisor of existing problems and/or foreseen problems with inventory or procedures;
  • Operate 24 – 26 foot truck to transport product to sites for each distribution;
  • Operate the forklift trucks;
  • Complete regular, assigned and logged maintenance of forklift trucks, program vehicles and warehouse in general;
  • Complete maintenance logs for program vehicles, forklift trucks, walk-in cooler, and other program machinery as assigned by the Warehouse Operations Supervisor;
  • Distribute product in an efficient and timely manner;
  • Unload product from semi-truck trailer;
  • Maintain knowledge of program guidelines and qualifications for CSFP/TEFAP and of other Client Service programs;
  • Assist in keeping warehouse safe, clean and organized;
  • Maintain positive public relations with food distributors, clients, volunteers and the community at large;
  • Participate in training programs and/or out of town meetings as required by supervisor;
  • Comply with random drug testing procedures;
  • Complete continuing education requirements.
  • Assist with all client service programs as requested;
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Who You’ll Supervise:
There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this position.

What We’ll Love About You:
  • High School Diploma / GED required.
  • Six months warehouse experience preferred.
  • Delivery Drivers in this position must have or obtain prior to employment a Michigan Driver License with a chauffeurs endorsement and a Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT physical card). Employees cannot have more than six (6) active points on their driver license as determined by the Department of State or have reckless, negligent or careless driving, violations involving drugs and alcohol, fleeing or eluding, failure to stop or notify after an accident, negligent homicide, vehicular manslaughter with a motor vehicle, drag or motor racing on a highway, theft of a motor vehicle, exceeding the speed limit by more than 20 mph, driving with a suspended or revoked license or registration or a combination of at-fault accidents/speeding violations in one year.
  • Must obtain a fork lift certification once hired.
