Job description
- Must be able to verify authenticity of academic credentials for domestic and international students, including accreditation status of schools, validity of test results, input and update application data as appropriate.
- Responsible for accurately maintaining student records and data and initiating appropriate verbal/written communication with students/staff.
- Assists with Admissions Office imaging process.
- Must be in compliance with University directives and standards, post transfer credit hours, and be able to generate reports, letters and labels on demand.
- Responsible for fostering a customer service attitude within the ESSC framework and participating in related ESSC functions.
- Assists co-workers as required.
- Should have the ability to sit for extended periods of time, ability to perform data entry, ability to provide customer service via e-mail, phone and in person, ability to access file cabinets (pulling, bending, standing and stooping), and ability to work extended hours during registration periods and as required.
- Should also be a team player able to function well within a large team group, and work well under pressure meeting predetermined deadlines.
Graduation from High School or GED equivalent and three years of general office or
clerical experience. Substitution of education for experience allowed.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to problem-solve and make decisions.
- Ability to effectively communicate.
- Knowledge of policies, practices, procedures and terminology of assigned function.
- Skill in composing routine letters and preparing reports.
- Skill in recording and compiling material for reports.
- One year of experience in a college/university setting.
- Experience reviewing and evaluating domestic and international credentials.
- Experience using PeopleSoft and Microsoft Office.
- Detail oriented and organized.
- Availability to work extended hours as required during peak periods.
- Ability to work independently and work well with a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines with a “can do” attitude.
