We have an opportunity for an Assembler at our Amsted Seals Hebron, Illinois location (formerly Tri-Seal). Amsted Seals, part of the larger Amsted Rail division, has been expanding our capabilities through direct sales and partnership programs. As part of this new business, you will be an important partner in shaping the business’s continued growth and development as a strategic growth business for Amsted. We have additional locations in Vancouver, WA, Ningbo, China, Petersburg, VA, and Chicago, IL as well as joint ventures in Phillipsburg, NJ and Jaipur, India.


Position Summary:

As an Assembler, you will perform manual assembly/packing operations to produce and ship commercial vehicle sealing products. You will produce quality seals by applying knowledge of assembly and packing procedures and shipping these seals to meet the customer's expectations using Amsted procedures and standards.


What we are looking for (requirements):

  • Perform manual assembly operations and monitor process sequence of operation, as identified in departmental quality plans and work instructions
  • Identify and contain non-conforming product
  • Assist Assembly set-up personnel with the changing over of seal components on the manual assembly line
  • Monitor part compliance to specification and equipment problems, enlisting the assistance of the set-up personnel, leadership or Quality personnel as needed
  • Safely manually lift seal components to load bins on the assembly lines
  • Perform packing of product for shipment per work instruction
  • Load skids for shipment or inventory; occasionally lifting 45lbs
  • Have basic computer skills necessary to operate label-making machine
  • Maintain strong communications with fellow operators and leadership
  • Perform basic housekeeping to keep area clean and safe
  • Perform other duties, as assigned
