Assistant Athletic Trainer, Gunnison High School
Job description
The assistant athletic trainer will provide sports medicine coverage as directed and support all aspects of the athletic training room at the Gunnison Watershed High School. The assistant athletic trainer will assist in the administration of the sports medicine program under the direction of the athletic trainer. Additional job responsibilities will include; athletic training coverage as needed and assigned by the Athletic Trainer and approved by the Director of Rehab and Athletic Medicine for the outreach programs. As a support mechanism of the athletic training room, this individual will help reduce the student-athlete to athletic trainer ratio in order to maintain a high level of care.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training, the program must be accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs
Experience: 2+ years is preferable. Experience in secondary school setting. Experience with concussion management
Licenses/Certification: Certified by the Board of Certification of the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification and in good standing, Colorado State licensed athletic trainer, DORA, AHA/BLS for healthcare provider.
Compensation: $20.90 - $26.48/hr, depending on experience.

Medical, dental, vision, health care FSA, and dependent care FSA: All active employees working 40 or more hours per pay period are eligible for benefits on the first of the month following date of hire. PRN staff are not initially eligible for benefits, and GVH follows all Affordable Health Care Act Eligibility guidelines.
