We are currently looking for an Associate Field Technician/Field Technician/ Sr. Field Technician for our Petal, MS office.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for carrying out daily operations & maintenance tasks associated with pipeline activities and to assist with operations and maintenance of Petal’s Compressor Station facilities located in the Petal MS operating area. This position will be responsible for environmental health & safety and reliability for natural gas transmission through the pipeline system. Specific duties will consist of, but are not limited to, atmospheric corrosion inspections, valve inspections and maintenance, tank gauging, pipeline locating, pipeline patrolling, gas sampling, one-calls, preventive pipeline maintenance and operations related to meter station, valve sites and right of way maintenance, and assisting with construction and repairs of pipelines and associated facilities. The compressor facilities include reciprocating units and turbine units, associated auxiliary equipment, and control equipment. This position may occasionally be required to assist at other nearby areas. This position will be responsible for recognition and reporting of abnormal and safety related operating conditions, accident and near miss reporting, as well as emergency response. This position is also responsible for regulatory compliance, operations, maintenance, and repair procedures as associated with DOT, industry standards, manufacturer, and company guidelines as they relate to facility equipment and appurtenances. This position will be expected to respond to call-outs and will be part of the on-call rotation related to pipeline and compression and for responding to emergency or abnormal situations. The successful candidate will be required to live within 30 miles of the Petal Office facility located in Petal, MS in order to respond to call outs expediently.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

• 1 to 5 years of gas pipeline operations and maintenance experience or equivalent petrochemical / oil industry experience.
• Must be self-motivated and have a strong commitment to personal and team safety.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions including hot, cold, muddy, rocky and wet environments and ability to stand for long periods of time, and climb stairs and ladders, etc.
• Ability to utilize a PC and manage a filing system.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record with no restrictions.

Preferred SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

• Natural Gas Compression Experience with reciprocating and turbine units

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

• Associate Degree in a related field
