Position Responsibilities/Essential Duties:
- Provides supervision, guidance and oversight within the new behavior analysis and behavior modification sections of Community Care of WV including assisting in program development, training staff recruiting staff and serving as a liaison with valued partners on development of new and innovative programs.
- Develops, reviews, and assists in implementation of behavior plans and provides field supervision of support staff when necessary.
- Develops appropriate behavior strategies to teach appropriate behavior and reduce maladaptive behaviors with a focus on teaching and other antecedent strategies for reducing problematic behavior(s).
- Assists CCWV support staff, school system staff, parents/guardians/family and other pertinent persons in implementation of plans and is available for consultation and liaison as necessary.
- Assist in the development, facilitation, and follow-up training in Applied Behavior Analysis, using both discrete trial training and natural environment training models of teaching.
- Provides didactic and instruction as directed to students, interns and staff.
- Provide model teaching and other direct instructional supports including but not limited to practicum supervision/teaching, class instruction and in-service instruction to other support professionals as directed
- Works with the Director of Behavioral Health Quality and Research to develop and implement assessment tools, to conduct functional assessments and analyses when appropriate, to create ongoing data collection system to establish baseline and programmatic efficacy for all consumers, and to analyze said data on a frequent and ongoing basis to guide programming
- Other Projects and duties as assigned.
- Possess the flexibility to work extended hours or an irregular schedule, when needed.
- Assists in writing clinical policies and/or procedures.
- Possess effective organizational, time management skills, and computer/technical skills.
- Promotes positive inter-department cooperation. Willingly participates in applicable committees or task forces, demonstrates a positive behavior in identifying and resolving complex or out of policy operation problems.
- Supports the Mission, Values and Vision of Community Care of West Virginia (CCWV) and the facility.
Education/Qualifications/Experience:
Education
- Minimum Master’s degree in Special Education, Education, Psychology, or related human services field
- Doctorate from accredited program preferred
Qualifications
- Board certified or eligible for certification by the Behavioral Analyst Certification Board
- Successful completion of internship and/or formal training in the analysis of behavior and instructional strategies
- Ability to demonstrate competence in behavior management skill, instructional skills, oral and written communication, organizational skills, and interpersonal relations
- Knowledge of behavior programming and implementation
- Proficient with technology including, but not limited to, electronic medical records, statistical analysis software
- Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment background check and national criminal background check analysis.
Experience
- Previous experience as BCBA preferred
- Ability to work with a variety of patients with regards to age, functionality, and impairment.
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst Licensure Required
Preference given to those who have worked with clients who have severe behaviors and/or pervasive developmental disorders and related disorders.
