SeKON has an opportunity for a Web Content Administrator to join our talented and innovative team supporting the Center for State, Tribal, Local, and Territorial Support (CSTLTS) within the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC). Due to COVID-19, this role will be 100% remote for the foreseeable future. CSTLTS was created specifically to support health departments – the nation’s front line of public health. The mission of CSTLTS is to improve community health outcomes by strengthening state, tribal, local, and territorial health (STLT) agencies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop a comprehensive approach for visual design and element placement to provide a rich and consistent user experience for CSTLTS web visitors.
  • Analyze and understand the current approach and identify ways to enhance user experience.
  • Assist CSTLTS to develop and document a consistent approach in presenting the different types of communication products and the visual navigational infrastructure that enables web visitors to intuitively locate these products throughout CSTLTS websites. Styles for elements shall be defined by available configurations in the agency’s Content Management System.
  • Ensure electronic documents from CSTLTS meet CDC’s accessibility requirements (compliance with Section 508) to be posted to external and internal web and SharePoint sites.
  • Must be able to apply CDC’s accessibility guidelines and recommendations that benefit people with disabilities.
  • Utilize Adobe Acrobat Pro to remediate PDF files for accessibility before those files are distributed by CSTLTS or CDC.
  • Remediate a variety of other electronic files for accessibility including common file types and templates such as those from Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Provide accessibility guidance to CSTLTS staff and partners and shall engage with the CDC 508 Help Desk when necessary.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Able to obtain a security clearance - public trust
  • Flexible and adaptive, with the ability to quickly change course and use multiple technologies to achieve required outcomes
  • Able to proactively manage multiple communications paths to ensure content is compliant and obtain content owner approval/acceptance for the product
  • Experience with social media, metadata, tagging, and search a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
