Certified Psychiatrist Responsibilities:

Education and Experience Requirement:

• Must possess and maintain all required professional liability insurances or other insurances mandated by state laws in which the applicant is licensed or any other applicable laws governing insurance requirements for psychiatric services.
• Must be willing to obtain and maintain security clearance
• Applicant’s facility must be located within 50 miles of (U.S. Department of Energy Headquarters Germantown 19901 Germantown Road Germantown, Maryland 20874; and/or U.S. Department of Energy Headquarters 1000 Independence Ave SW Washington, DC 20585).

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Psychological Assessment Services. These services include Personal Security File (PSF) reviews, clinical evaluations, final reports, formal testimonies at administrative review hearings, and other related special requests, as needed. The services are used by the Office of Personnel and Facility Clearances and Classification in determining an individual’s eligibility or continued eligibility for a Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration access authorization (hereinafter referred to as a “security clearance”)
• The assigned clinician shall conduct a personal psychiatric evaluation of the individual. Evaluations are conducted in person at the designated location.
• The evaluation shall include the clinician’s professional opinion regarding the individual’s mental illness or mental condition and any associated treatments thereof that can impair the individual’s judgment, stability, trustworthiness, or reliability
