About us:
We are a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and have been providing care to Yolo County residents since 1972. Like other community health centers, we provide care to anyone that walks through our doors and are located in all major cities within Yolo County (Davis, Woodland and West Sacramento) and provide services throughout Yolo County. The community health center movement was born out of the civil rights movement in the 1960s with the mission to provide healthcare in communities where there are few or no options for care. Our mission is rooted in the philosophy that health care is a right, not a privilege. We serve and provide care for those disproportionally impacted by social determinants of health.
Essential Functions:
- Works in close collaboration with primary care providers and behavioral health department to provide psychiatric assessment and treatment planning in specialty mental health within the Behavioral Health Youth and Family Services Department, which includes a Care Coordinator/MA to assist with vitals and other client coordination needs.
- Assesses patients behavioral/psychiatric issue(s) and family circumstances as appropriate and initiates treatment plans.
- Provides information and helps educate parents about their childs diagnosis and treatment.
- Provides medication monitoring of patients. Depending on severity, some cases will be seen until they are stable and can be referred to their primary care provider for on-going medication management with periodic follow-ups by the psychiatrist; some may continue to be seen by the psychiatrist.
- Completes and updates medication consent forms regularly according to standards of Medi-Cal requirements.
- Acts as liaison for cases where care is referred to Yolo County Mental Health (when complexity surpasses management in a Primary Care setting).
- Attends joint Behavioral Health and Primary Care provider team consults to discuss more challenging cases as needed or requested.
- Uses electronic health record system to document visits, progress, billing information and program statistics.
- Monitors recordkeeping for compliance to quality assurance standards.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Education/Experience Required:
Graduation from an accredited school of medicine, successful completion of a three-year accredited residency program and current California licensed, Board certified or Board eligible in Child Psychiatry. Minimum two years experience practicing as a child psychiatrist. Experience treating patients with substance abuse issues strongly preferred. Experience working in a community mental health or primary care setting is highly desirable.

Ability to operate office equipment (telephone, copies, fax and computer), ability to bend, lift and carry up to 25 pounds, hearing required.
Special Skills/Equipment: Computer skills to include Microsoft Office and with training proficiently utilize eClinicalWorks. Knowledge of medical terminology, DSM 5 and ICD-10 codes. Must provide current drivers license and auto insurance, ability to travel in Yolo County (West Sacramento, Davis, Woodland). Able to proficiently engage and provide care to patients by way of HIPAA complaint telehealth/video-based services and fully participate in video-based meetings and trainings. Must have ability to effectively use telephonic translation services when client language preference dictates.

PAY RATE
- The pay range for this position is $226,800- $362,800 annually. Starting pay within this range will vary depending on the job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
- May be eligible for annual 2% + 0-2% merit-based pay adjustment (0-4%).
