Education Coordinator (RN) - Lactation Dept

HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood is a 439-bed acute care facility that has provided quality care to the Lake Houston area for over 25 years. It is home to the area's only comprehensive cardiac, neuroscience and women services programs. Our Women & Children's Center provides Level II and III neonatal intensive care units, high-risk obstetrics, a breast diagnostic center, a designated pediatric unit, and the area's only pediatric emergency department.

HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood is affiliated with HCA Houston Healthcare, part of the HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division. The division is a comprehensive network of hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, emergency centers and diagnostic imaging facilities in greater Houston, Corpus Christi and South Texas. Facilities include: 17 hospitals, nine ambulatory care centers, 13 off-campus emergency centers, and a regional transfer center.

What you will do in this role:

This position has the responsibility of supporting the mission of the hospital which is to show commitment to the care and improvement of human life by striving to deliver high quality, cost-effective healthcare services to our community. This position supports the mission by planning and implementing for the ongoing processes of training, education and quality improvement by assisting, coordinating and presenting education programs for hospital staff, medical staff, patients, their families and members of the general community. Responsible for the Education Department and function to plan, direct, coordinate, implement and evaluate activities of the department as a subsystem of total hospital environment remaining accountable to an established budget. Employee has the authority and accountability and responsibility for the Continuing Nursing Education program. Provides surveillance, in order to identify, investigate, report and record data concerning infection control.

Qualifications

What qualifications you will need:

Minimum Education and Training:

Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing

BSN preferred

Masters preferred

Minimum Work Experience:

Five (5) years recent clinical experience in nursing

Two (2) years experience as an educator

Skills:

Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing

Clinically competent in areas of responsibility

Knowledge and experience with project and program implementation

Ability to use an educational design process in planning and executing

License / Registration / Certification:

Current Texas license as RN

Current BLS Course Completion certificate
