Highlights of the job

We are recruiting for an exceptional Director, Operations to lead multi-disciplined Operational teams, based in our Arizona operations footprint. This individual possesses extensive experience in field operations and maintenance of water and wastewater operations. Work locations will vary and include the Arizona operations footprint with base location being our Phoenix office. The primary responsibilities of this position include ensuring operational integrity is maintained including regulatory compliance in all facilities; providing strategic and operational input to annual business plans; controlling budgets; and ensuring that operational and financial targets are met or exceeded, implementation of CMMS, AMI, consolidated maintenance across various districts, operational planning and efficiencies.

What you’d be responsible for

• Leading, motivating and developing staff and building shared commitment to continuous improvement.
• Developing strategy, best practices and priorities for cross operational programs such as CMMS, AMI, SCADA, Operational Planning, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of capital investment programs and ability to drive effective implementation of these programs.
• Developing and participating in projects which reduce costs and improve the level of service provided.
• Proactively exploring, evaluating and implementing the integration of new technology and/or methods to enhance utility operations.
• Establishing relationships with community leaders and representing the company before regulatory agencies by providing credible and compelling testimony.

What’s required to be successful

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Management, Biology or related discipline. MSCE or MBA is highly desirable.
• 10-15 years of experience managing and directing large operations teams in the water/wastewater utility industry.
• Knowledgeable with applicable regulations, requirements and trends impacting the water/wastewater business.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
