Under the supervision of the Food Service Director and consistent with the Christian mission of the YMCA, the Food Service Team Member preforms a wide range of duties related to preparing and/or serving foods to support all groups at Camp Harrison.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in food service operations and functions as needed.
- Follow established recipes to prepare menu items.
- Clean and organize work areas, equipment, utensils and service stations.
- Follow camp procedures to reduce waste and contain food costs.
- Assist with maintaining cleanliness in the dining room and bathrooms
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma, or equivalent
- SafeServe certification or ability to obtain within first 60 days
- 1-3 years experience in serving a large number of people
- Sensitivity to cultural, religious and social differences among individuals
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to lift to 50 lbs.
- Able to physically respond quickly in an emergency.
- Ability to irregular work hours
- Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate
- Significant lifting, carrying, walking, hand and finer dexterity, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity.
- The job is performed under temperature extremes and under specific time requirements.
