Histotechnologist Mohs (MLT)

SITE OF SERVICE:

• Naval Medical Center San Diego
• Full Time Position

POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree: Medical Laboratory Certificate/Diploma
• Education: Graduate from a medical laboratory technician training program accredited with one of the following:
  • The National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS)
  • The Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES)
  • Educational program acceptable to the American Medical Technologist (AMT).
  • Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS)
• Certification: Possess and maintain a current certification and registration as a Histotechnician from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (HT-ASCP).
• Additional Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) hands on certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Experience: Possess a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Histotechnician in a Mohs micrographic surgery setting within the preceding 3 years.
• U.S. Citizenship: Shall be a U.S. citizen
• English Language Requirement: Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate.
• Physical Capability: Shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required under the contract.

HOURS:

• Sunday through Saturday, between the hours of 0600 and 2000 hours. Shifts will normally be scheduled for an 8.5 hour, 10.5 OR 11 hour period

Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Team-work skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
