Infrastructure Administrator

Iron Bow Technologies has an immediate need for an experienced Infrastructure Administrator / Systems Engineer interested in a permanent opportunity in Richmond, VA

The selected candidate will provide guidance as it relates to underlying infrastructure (servers, network, firewall rules, switches, etc.) of End User Computing (EUC) services and will work with internal teams and 3rd party vendors to ensure that infrastructure is in place to support EUC capabilities, capacity and satisfy all internal Iron Bow and program related requirements.

Position Responsibilities

· Monitor virtual servers (vSphere) for server utilization / capacity

· Monitor physical servers for utilization / capacity

· Manage all firewall rules requests

· Maintain library of all firewall rule requests, past and present for expedient issue resolution

· Work with Server STS (Unisys) and server owner to maintain servers and resolve any issues regarding:

o Operating System

o Patching

o Physical issues

o Temp file / log file cleanup

· Monitor SQL servers for performance and efficiency

· Must follow policies and procedures; complete tasks in timely manner; support organization goals and values

· Promote and build customer and employee confidence

· Manage customer situations – expectation management, scope

Candidate Experience Requirements

· Significant experience with server administration across multiple platforms (Windows, SQL, VMware, etc.) and monitoring server infrastructure to optimize performance, capacity

· Experience with both physical and virtual server administration

· Prior working knowledge of SQL Server 2016

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure

· Previous experience managing firewalls and tracking firewall changes/issues

· Experience building / optimizing cubes with SQL queries

· Experience with Analysis Services (SSAS) and Reporting Services (SSRS) including database development, deployment, configuration, security, and troubleshooting is preferred

· Some experience with scripting in languages like Java Script, SQL, PowerShell

· Knowledge of Microsoft SCCM

· Ability to create and update complex diagrams using Microsoft Visio / PowerPoint

· Strong MS Office skills using and developing documents, spreadsheets and presentations

· Works well in a matrix management framework

· Effective verbal, presentation and written communications skills

· Attention to detail, ability to balance a high volume workload, prioritize requirements and meet deadlines, learn in a fast paced environment

· Must be able to work independently and cross functionally within team environment

· Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner

· Ability to manage team and individual responsibilities; gives and welcomes feedback; support efforts to succeed

· Ability to interpret policies, rules, regulations, procedures regarding software and hardware acquisition, the handling and protection of multiple classes of data

· Prior working experience with an ITSM tool set such as ServiceNow or Cherwell

· Proficiency working within MS Office Suite, MS Visio, SharePoint

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is desired, substitution of experience acceptable

· Candidates with ITIL v3 Foundations Certification are encouraged to apply

· Travel Requirements: Estimated 5% local travel required for this position

Pay: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
