The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing maintenance activities which will support the entire Springfield Danone operation.
We are looking for someone who will be self-motivated, cooperative, reliable, patient, considerate, respectful, & passionate about the work that needs to be done!

Job Details for Maintenance Mechanic:
- Cooperation with Maintenance leadership & Operations personnel for execution of work to be performed.
- Ensure the plant is maintained in a safe, efficient manner, in accordance with plant procedures & local, state/federal regulations.
- Proactive troubleshooting, communication, & resolution of equipment performance issues with both the Maintenance & Operations team.
- Continuous development & formal training to increase skill level is essential.
- Ability to effectively troubleshoot a wide range of equipment operation deficiencies, identify contributing factors, & correct efficiently.
- Knowledge of multimeters for electrical troubleshooting & other electrical/mechanical tools is necessary.
- Experience reading technical manuals & one-line diagrams.
- Maintain Production Flow; Work with operators, learning & training, on optimal run conditions. Be responsive to equipment performance issues before breakdown.
- Help inexperienced operators understand what is not normal & how to react.
Safety:
- Maintains a safe working environment, functioning as a member of a cooperative team & participates in safety work.
- Understands & adheres to personal & food safety standards established.
- Knowledge of LOTO, Working at Heights, ARC Flash, Chemical Safety & other programs common in a manufacturing environment.
- Follows GMP Practices.
Manufacturing Preventive/Predictive and Corrective Maintenance:
- Perform planned maintenance activities according to a maintenance schedule.
- Technical skills in mechanical, pneumatics, refrigeration, fabrication, electrical controls.
- Clean, inspect, & replace worn parts to keep equipment in optimal condition.
- Execute timed PM’s & Predictive Maintenance routes & update procedures as needed for continuous improvement.
- Read, enter information, check out parts in Maintenance Management System.
Facilities Maintenance:
- Perform facility maintenance duties ie; simple plumbing, electrical, structural & mechanical repair & sustainment tasks for the Danone properties as required.
Education/Experience:
- High diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Technical training or certification preferred in Mechanical/Pneumatic/ Electrical/Refrigeration/Metal work or Fabrication.
- Preventative Maintenance Skills.
- Minimum 3-5 years of manufacturing experience.
- Millwright experience is a plus.
Skills or Abilities:
- Basic to Advanced Level Mechanics, Pneumatics, Steam Systems, Electrical, & Refrigeration.
- Basic to Intermediate Controls Knowledge a plus.
- Safety Knowledge/Training: Lockout Tagout, Fall Prevention, Electrical Safety, Confined Space, OSHA, PPE, Haz Comm, Tool Safety.
- Experience in Food Production a plus.
- Good verbal & written communication, presentation, organizing, prioritizing & implementation skills.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally & coordinate efforts around process improvement.
- Ability to prioritize & meet deadlines within specified time constraints.
