MAINTENANCE TECH

Do you have previous experience completing a variety of projects as a handyman or maintenance technician? If so, our Kendallville community is looking for you!

The Maintenance Tech works with the Director of Maintenance in maintaining our Kendallville campus. The tech renders a variety of general maintenance tasks and repairs, performs cleaning duties, and provides painting services as needed.

Job Qualifications

Education/Training

  • Trade School certificate preferred. Specifically, Electrical or HVAC

Experience

  • Five (5) years experience performing a variety of maintenance activities; at least one year experience in a nursing home environment is preferred.
  • Previous Safety program experience with working knowledge of OSHA; Life Safety Code, Building Code & ANSI

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to interpret blue prints, equipment manuals, and building specification manuals; (i.e. building codes and Fire Safety codes)
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, refrigeration and heating.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English.
  • Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools and equipment associated with carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.
  • Ability to enter data in computer system accurately; maintain reports, record-keeping, basic math skills. Familiar with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word & Excel)
