A Manufacturing Engineer job in Hegins, PA, is available at MI Windows and Doors. You will have three-plus years of experience. This role will require design work to improve tooling to make production more efficient. Salary is market competitive and is dependent on experience. The annual compensation range is $60,000.00 - $90,000.00, depending on experience. The employer will not sponsor applicants for work visas.

Manufacturing Engineer job responsibilities include:

  • Observe operations through detailed steps or processes, collect, correlate data, and implement process improvements at plant location.
  • Work with product development and production to determine appropriate new product methods, focusing on continually identifying ways to improve our processes.
  • Works in conjunction with the Continuous Improvement team to improve the deployment, sustainability, and consistency of process improvements across locations.
  • Establishes work measurement programs and analyzes work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.
  • Help develop automation in the process to improve safety, reduce defects, and improve productivity.
  • Analyze workforce utilization, facility layout, and operational data, including production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to determine efficient workers and equipment utilization.
  • Recommend methods for improving efficiency while reducing waste. Conduct basic breakdown structures to evaluate efficiency opportunities while reorganizing workflow and relocating workstations to drive operational excellence.
  • Maintain technical aptitude by attending pertinent classes, seminars, and trade shows as needed.
  • Audit BOMS and sign off on Deviation Forms
  • Assist with line balancing, automation, troubleshooting, and time studies
  • Able to facilitate and teach Continuous Improvement processes, design tools/fixtures, and time study skills.
  • Lead Kaizen events with cross-functional teams to improve operations
  • Update and maintain facility layout drawing

Requirements

  • Strong understanding and application of Continuous Improvement, Lean Methods, and Process Automation
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks other applicable computer skills.
  • Ability to implement changes through location Operations teams without having direct management responsibility for these teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent internal and external customer service skills.
  • Ability to program PLCs is a plus.
