General Description:
This position supports the Math Tutoring Center at the Manassas Campus.
Duties and Tasks:
The Math Tutor will tutor students in credit and developmental math, as well as assist with computer software usage, conduct group study sessions, other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications
Required KSAs:
- Knowledge of a wide range of credit math coursework taught in higher education.
- Must have the ability to assist student in improving academic achievements by meeting with them as needed to clarify learning problems and work on study skills.
- Additional abilities might include reviewing class material, discussing the text, predicting test question, formulating ideas for papers or working on solutions to problems.
- Must have some computer skills and be willing to learn unfamiliar applications
- Patience, ability to diffuse math anxiety and ability to explain math concepts in different ways to math students
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma and some college course work
- Must have completed and received a grade of ‘B’ or better in coursework providing tutoring assistance in.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree.
- Proficiency with MS Office.
- Previous experience working as a tutor.
- Previous experience working in higher education.
