Job description
Southwest Florida EyeCare/US Eye is looking for exceptional Patient Service Representatives. As the "Director of First Impressions" he/she must possess excellent customer service skills, provide an efficient and pleasant check in/out process for our patients. As the first and last point of contact the Patient Service Representative shares an integral part of the overall patient satisfaction and experience.
Essential Job Functions:
Greet and direct all patients, visitors and staff upon entry into practice
Verify all insurance benefits, update patient demographics as necessary
Assist patient with any questions regarding questionnaires, patient portals or general inquiries
Print daily team/physician schedules for the day
Attend walk-in patients, scheduling inquires, and prescription/record pick up as needed
Cross-check and update next-day charts as evidenced by patient appointment schedule
Collect necessary co-payments, non-covered service fees and/or existing account balances at check out.
Complete essential reports and forms as needed, additional administrative duties as requested
Monitor reception area during the day for cleanliness and prepare for next day by assuring office is neat and orderly.
Competencies:
Any previous medical experience preferred
knowledge of insurance and verification process
Ability to follow oral/written instructions
Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize work flow in a fast-paced environment, time management and ability to meet deadlines and requirements of the organization
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience with Microsoft Office Products
Prior Customer Service Experience (medical preferred)
Must be able to work under pressure and respond to patient requests in a positive manner
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $0.10 - $0.20 per hour
