Principal Accountabilities
In addition to the following Epson's policies and procedures, principle accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
- Communicates with employees regarding Epson’s leave of absence programs related to FMLA, ADA, discretionary leaves, worker’s compensation, leave extensions, state disability, Epson provided short-term and long-term disability benefits, and other state leave or pay related to leave laws, such as CFRA, California PDL, and Paid-Family Leave (PFL).
- Handles the leave administration process from the initial leave notice to when the employee returns to work. Coordinates with HR Business Partners on employee relations matters related to leaves.
- Determines leave eligibility and gathers and completes all required paperwork.
- Maintains reasonable communication with employees and their managers about the leave to facilitate an efficient and timely return to work.
- Tracks and documents ADA requirements and accommodations.
- Tracks all leave statuses and ensures the internal HR system is consistently updated.
- Maintains knowledge of all federal and state leave and accommodation laws.
- In coordination with outside HR attorney, drafts and/or recommends revisions to company leave policies to comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Makes recommendations to control and prevent job injuries.
- Assess work environments to identify any work hazards and plan intervention programs.
- Review Incident Investigation reports for completeness.
Experience:
- At least 8 years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Completion of an undergraduate degree (B.A. or B.S.)
- Prior experience with Absence Administration in relation to Indiana or California state laws
- Prior experience in regard to safety, incident investigation and workers compensation
