Description:PURPOSE:
The Operations Planning Manager(OPM) will support our manufacturing site located in Rancho Cucamonga CA. This is not a remote or hybrid position. The OPM will own demand planning, capacity planning, master scheduling, production scheduling, inventory optimizations as well as warehouse fulfilment. This position will report to the Director of SIOP.
The OPS is responsible for sales Inventory and operations planning process(SIOP), analytics, and reporting to ensure effective end-to-end supply chain planning and execution.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:*

  • Inventory management, inventory optimization, packaging, warehousing, transportation, fulfillment, domestic and international shipping/receiving
  • Demand planning, capacity planning, master scheduling, production scheduling, order fulfillment
  • ITAR/DFAR/FAR/EAR compliance a plus
  • Computer skills/ability to work with various software packages. Working knowledge of ERP platforms required, high competency in Excel, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Organized and pay attention to the details; you are conscientious and meticulous in your work.
  • Ability to work productively and cooperatively in a high-volume, fast paced, highly pressured environment
  • Knowledge of general accounting; production assembly procedures, techniques, and tooling; material and capacity planning and forecasting; and product bill of material procedures.
  • You are highly collaborative, inventive in finding the information you need, and comfortable when facing uncertainty or ambiguity.
  • You are an outstanding communicator and are comfortable presenting to senior leaders.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write technical reports and presentations.
  • Self-starter with the ability to quickly learn about new processes with very little information provided.
  • Must possess skills to define Root Cause and implement effective Corrective Actions.
  • Team focused with the ability to actively participate in and/or lead cross-function teams.

Requirements:EDUCATION AND/OR PROFESSIONAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATES:

  • B.S. degree in Business or Supply Chain or related field
  • APICS Certification - Must have or willing to complete within two years of employment
  • Lean or six sigma certification a plus, not required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years managing a team of more than 4 direct reports within operations planning, inventory planning, supply chain management, and inventory optimizations
  • Experience preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Commercial and defense sector, products, or an ISO regulated industry a plus
  • 10+ years ERP experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Previous experience working in and/or supporting Customer Service teams in commercial and defense markets
  • A strong track record of building and maintaining models used to analyze and improve operations, particularly capacity modeling, and cost modeling
  • Understanding and familiarity with ecommerce

DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:*

  • Manage the enterprise operations planning processes and support Value Stream Managers
  • Develops reports published to senior management
  • Lead weekly operations planning meetings, cascade facilitation and collaboration
  • Research business issues to define risks / opportunities
  • Provides deep dive analysis of red, yellow, green KPIs and facilitates resolution and action plans for the issues
  • Works closely with demand management team to assess red KPIs
  • Process Owner for the assigned Site Sales Inventory and Operations Planning Process
  • Supports business analytic activities that enable Sales Inventory and Operations Planning and best practices
  • Support FOP/Product Segmentation analysis
  • Support Statistical Safety Stock Process
  • Support product codification requirements for the enterprise portfolio
  • Frame and communicate supply chain risk assessments from operating teams
  • Monitoring monthly demand forecast changes
  • Monitoring forecast risk and accuracy and customer service KPI’s for impacts to supply planning
  • Manage SIOP activities that provide analysis which drive business decisions relative to improving Service Levels, responsiveness, lead times, efficiency, and customer service via streamlining processes and operational excellence projects
  • Work with IT analysts / Systems Manager to design new reports / processes that lead to simplification and enhanced business planning
  • Leverage industry best practices and continuous improvements to continually enhance SIOP processes

POSITION SUPERVISES:
This is a supervisory role with 4-6 direct reports
CONTACT WITH OTHERS:
Internal: Position requires daily contact with local staff, peers, and Management.
External: Contact with individuals outside the facilities such as suppliers, as well as other GENTEX facilities

Works in various conditions including a climate-controlled office environment as well as production and warehouse areas which can be subject to moderate changes in temperature.
