The Outdoor Adventure Guide must have an interest in and knowledge about the natural world, including the Texas Hill Country, or a curiosity to learn about our natural habitat. This person must have strong interpersonal skills, strong customer service skills, strong group management skills, and strong critical thinking and problem solving skills. They also need to have the ability to be flexible in regards to scheduling and daily duties. Personal interest in outdoor adventure pursuits, including extensive hiking experience, water activity experience, climbing experience and a knowledge of rope systems.

• Detail oriented, creative, and flexible
• Strong leadership skills
• Ability to communicate effectively and work as a team player
• Excellent presentation and teaching skills
• Climbing ability and comfortable working at heights of 30-50ft to include traversing cables
• Must be technically proficient with ropes, helmets, harnesses, hardware and several belay techniques
• Regional knowledge of outdoor venues and resources
• Ability to perform and facilitate all activities related to outdoor adventure
• Hike 3-4 mile/hour pace, miles ranging from 2-14 miles traveled
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays
• Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions
• Must have valid Driver's License

Education and/or Experience

• Proficient knowledge of Miraval Philosophy and Mindfulness Applications preferred
• Five years of experience in facilitation and/or guiding outdoor adventure programs preferred
• Five years guiding experience hiking preferred
• Five years of experience in facilitation of High and Low Ropes Elements preferred
• ACCT Facilitator Level II preferred
• First Aid/CPR
• Wilderness First Aid and Wilderness First Responder Preferred
• Lifeguard certification training required for facilitating water activities
• Training in facilitating stand up paddleboard and kayaking required for facilitating water activities
