GENERAL SUMMARY:
In accordance with federal and state laws including FLSA and under moderate supervision of the Payroll Supervisor, performs various clerical, payroll and accounting responsibilities to establish and maintain employee payroll records. Provide compliance auditing of payroll related data as a check and balance for the accurate outcome of employee paychecks. Monitor data flow on Human Capital Management (HCM) systems and process alerts and changes as deemed necessary. Be a resource and provide assistance to departments and employees with the timekeeping system, pay statement view system, Beaumont policies, pay practices and FLSA compliance. Be a intergral part of the operations within the Payroll Department to achieve accurate and timely payrolls while demonstrating excellent customer service to customers (employees).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Maintain all payroll data of employees within assigned departments in a timely, accurate and confidential manner. Interact with departmental management and employees.
2. Review, calculate, implement and audit HCM data flow and alerts of all assigned employee changes originating from Human Resources. Determine necessary payroll process for the specific alert to ensure the accuracy of the data flow including retro pay adjustments.
3. Assist, research and resolve employees, Time Editors and Managers with any payroll related inquiries or issues.
4. Review and monitor biweekly time and attendance information. Notify editors/managers when there is an issue and work with them to correct the issue.
5. Perform prospective audits of department input into timekeeping system utilizing timecard and schedules for compliance to governmental labor laws including FLSA and Beaumont policy.
6. Review and process authorized corrections as requested by departments. Audit numerous reports for pay accuracy and compliance. Provide timekeeping assistance to departments as needed to enhance the user’s skills.
7. Review and verify final processing outcomes of data input during the on-cycle payroll run process.
8. Sort departmental mail and faxes throughout the day. Distribute or respond, as appropriate.
9. Maintain up-to-date working knowledge of federal, state and local regulations, as well as, Beaumont Health policies, procedures, pay practices and union contracts.
10. Demonstrates outstanding customer service mindful of the personal aspect of the payroll relationship between employer and employee and ensures that harmony is maintained through constant concern for the fellow employee.
11. Process data for inclusion in the off cycle and manual payroll payment runs following established Beaumont guidelines.
12. Strives for 100% compliance, accuracy and timeliness of all payroll activities.
13. Provide coverage for Payroll Representatives and other co-workers as necessary for vacations, LOA's, absences, and trainees. Complete special projects and other tasks as assigned.

STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS

A. Education / Training: High school graduate or equivalent.
B. Work Experience: Requires a minimum of 1-year experience in a payroll department that oversees timekeeping and payroll processing or as a time editor in Kronos/E-time timekeeping system.
C. Certification, Licensure, Registration: None
D. Other Qualifications: Capacity for independent analysis. Excellent organizational, communication, writing and personal computer skills required. Detail and customer service orientated. Computer application skills including Microsoft programs, timekeeping and payroll software. Multi-tasking, and data entry skills required with ability to manage large volumes of data efficiently to meet strict deadlines. Ability to understand data flow and the effects on related Payroll systems and outcomes. Requires the ability to maintain the highest standards for accuracy and confidentiality in all aspects of work.
