Job Summary:*
The Flexographic Support Associate is responsible for assisting in routine aspects of press operation by performing manual and machine operator tasks in the set-up, maintenance and operation of Inland’s flexographic presses. The Flexographic Support Associate assists operations in achieving quality and throughput goals and further assists press operators in maximizing press throughput. The Flexographic Support Associate will ensure that presses are supplied properly prior to print production, to ensure press efficiencies are met.

- Reads and understands a job ticket to determine the stock, ink and other material needed for the job.
- Prepares materials for upcoming jobs by viewing production schedule and conferring with operators.
- Responsible for preparation/staging, management throughout the run, and return of all inks, coatings, and substrate associated with the production run.
- Manufactures, sets-up and mounts printing plates and rotary silk screens.
- Examines photographic images for imperfections prior to plate making. Verifies all job information to ensure that correct plates are being utilized and further checks plates for quality and repairs any imperfections.
- Inspects and identifies defects in the negatives, raw material, printing plates, sleeves, mounting tape and cylinders.
- Operates and maintains laser platemaking equipment that converts electronic data to plates without the use of film.
- Responsible for ensuring all parts, plates/plate rolls, and anilox rolls are staged and ready for changeover.
- Evaluates and makes recommendations to Flexographic Press Operator for improvements in production and quality.
- Completes and maintains production records, files production material.
- Performs quality checks to specifications and color standards.
- Participates in ink formula modifications in order to achieve desired color and printability.
- Assists in operating press according to Standard Operating Procedures.
Essential skills and experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree
- Proficient computer skills
- Good communication skills
