We are currently seeking Packers to join our Packing House team as a crucial link in the food supply chain.

JVI’s team of Packers are responsible for supporting fresh perishable packing activities across our line of hundreds of specialty fruits, vegetables, and herbs. Duties can include packing, re-packing, and re-grading product for sale.

ABOUT THE JOB

This is a full-time position. There are multiple shifts available including: 6am-2pm (Mon.-Fri.), 2pm-10pm (Mon.-Fri.), 7am-3pm (Sun.)/6am-2pm (Mon.-Thurs.), & 12pm-8pm (Sun.)/2pm-10pm (Mon.-Thurs.).

• Packs/re-packs fresh produce for sale
• Prepares products for shipment.
• Maintain records and order information on finished goods
• Inspect containers, materials and products in order to ensure that packing specifications are met
• Complies with food safety and cleanliness requirements
• Assists with maintaining a clean packing environment
• Reports all concerns with packing, product quality, inventory, and safety
• Strive to meet personal and team goals for product packing

ABOUT YOU

Skills & Abilities

• Ability to read and write English
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well on a team
• Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong basic math skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 LBS
• Understanding of proper perishable product handling
• Knowledge of the operation of warehouse equipment and machines
• Basic knowledge of warehouse procedures

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• One (1) to three (3) years warehouse or produce experience required
