Mountain Waterworks is seeking experienced water/wastewater-focused Engineers in Training (EITs) and/or Project Engineers with 3-7 years of experience. The EIT or Project Engineer will operate as a part of a project team and therefore must be a team-oriented, goal-driven professional. They will be responsible for preparing project deliverables including engineering reports, planning studies, construction contract documents and technical specifications, and facility design drawings. They will interact internally with CAD designers, project managers, and supporting staff, while also coordinating with external team members including clients, subconsultants, regulatory and funding agency staff, contractors, suppliers, and system operators.

Location: Boise, ID – Lewiston, ID – McCall, ID offices

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide planning, design, and construction phase services on water/wastewater projects with municipal, governmental, private, and industrial clients.
  • Support multi-discipline projects incorporating structural, mechanical, and electrical components into complete plan sets.
  • Develop engineering cost estimates for project alternatives.
  • Collaborate with drafters, EITs, and construction observers to execute project components.
  • Work with senior engineering staff to resolve project-related issues that may arise during project delivery.
  • Perform construction phase services including construction surveying coordination, observation, shop drawing review, processing of pay applications, and closeout of construction contracts.
  • Interact with government agencies for necessary permits, crossing agreements, easements, encroachments and other necessary requirements.
  • Participate in public meetings or open houses to discuss project details.

Relevant Experience/Knowledge:

  • Civil Engineering principles relating to; hydraulics, water treatment, wastewater treatment processes, open channel and closed conduit calculations,
  • Project and time management
  • Knowledge of engineering economics principles, financial analysis, and water rates
  • Western states water right administration
