Using cutting edge technology, the Carmeuse team conducts constant research and development to ensure the reliability of its products and meet customer needs. We also provide customer specific in-field application support. A network of terminals, employing trains, trucks, and barges, transports products to meet customer’s “On-time” demands.
Responsibilities of the Quarry Truck Driver postion position include, but are not limited to:

  • Operate and maintain haul truck in a consistent and Safe manner. Maintenance involves, but is not limited to, lubrication, fueling, cleaning, checking and maintaining proper levels of fluids
  • Works co-operatively with other employees with a minimum amount of supervision.
  • Monitors work done for adherence to legislated requirements.
  • Completion of documents and records both daily pre-shift and post-shift.
  • Report production/electrical/mechanical issues to Supervision immediately via both verbal communication and maintenance repair slips.
  • Must be able to properly use Personal Protective Equipment, such as fall protection equipment, gloves, respirators, face shield, hard hat, reflective vest/clothing, safety glasses, steel-toed boots and all other PPE as necessary that is required for specific jobs/tasks.
  • Able to properly use confined space equipment and follow procedures for entering confined spaces.
  • Willingness to cross train in other areas of the plant.
  • Any other duties as assigned by management in order to support the plant Production Team as a whole.
  • Follow direction(s) given by the Crusher Operator in support of daily production, the Preventative Maintenance program, regular crusher equipment services and cleaning, quarry infrastructure up-keep, and all other tasks as necessary.
  • Have a positive mindset that is focused on solutions and how best to support the overall quarry operation.

Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED; willing and able to work 2nd shift (3 PM – 11 PM).
Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with other employees of the organization

Math Skills:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional variables.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, frequently required to walk and occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near safety guarded moving mechanical parts; indoors in a semi-climate controlled environment; in elevated/high places (elevated catwalk); in outside weather conditions; and is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, airborne particles, petroleum products, petroleum products, winter and summer temperatures while performing work outside, and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud (hearing protected provided for louder environments).
