Job description
In our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit, we maintain a fast pace to meet the needs of those in the most acute phases of cardiac disease. Common problems seen in our unit include post open heart surgery, severe decompensated heart failure/cardiogenic shock, STEMI, aortic dissection, and acute severe valvular dysfunction. Our unit also provides immediate specialized care to other severe and critically ill patients, including respiratory and cardiac failure, sepsis, renal failure, induced hypothermia, and continuous renal replacement therapy. Our Nurses demonstrate highly advanced skills in patient assessment/ intervention, teamwork, and crisis management. We orient new nurses to our unit by providing an 8-12 week orientation with a dedicated preceptor team complemented by a program of critical care courses and a nurse residency program for new graduates. Responsibilities:- Collaboration with other health professionals, assessment & analyzing assessment data
- Establishing goals, planning care strategy, establishing priorities of care, implementing care
- Delegating tasks safely, providing safe direct and indirect nursing care, evaluating responses to interventions
- Performing additional nursing functions in accordance with knowledge and skills acquired beyond basic nursing preparation.
- Diploma or Associate’s degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
- Previous experience in healthcare field preferred.
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION
- Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license or active Multistate RN license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training is required within 6 months of hire.
- ACLS is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.
