Conducts innovative scientific investigation by developing theories and devising scientific methods and procedures to apply scientific principles, theories and research in projects related to the mission of UTMB. Committed to the discovery of new innovative biomedical and health services knowledge leading to increasingly effective and accessible health care. Evaluates, selects, and applies standard scientific techniques and procedures while using judgment when necessary to adapt standard methods and techniques.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Contributes to establishing research objectives and methodologies, designing procedures, conducting research projects, analyzing, and interpreting results.
  • Facilitate small group learning experiences (e.g., journal clubs, courses)
  • Drafts/edits abstracts, manuscripts, grants and presentation
  • Employs BioRender software to produce high quality figures for publications, presentations and grants
  • Utilizes publishing software (i.e., InDesign) to produce expert laid-out documents
  • Leads/trains research staff, students and postdoctoral fellows and oversees execution of assigned tasks, as needed.
  • Assists with media announcements of Center advancements
  • Performs related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Doctoral degree (Ph.D., M.D., D.O., D.V.M.) in related field and no experience required.


SALARY:
Commensurate with experience.
