  • General Summary: *

Under the supervision of the Director of Patient Business Services, the Revenue Cycle I.T. Coordinator leads, the implementation, education of I.T. systems, and technology, as related to the Revenue Cycle. This individual acts as a liaison between Information Technology and Patient Business Services, and serves as the non-technical project manager for all new system installs and existing system upgrades.

  • This position requires experience with and knowledge of project management, hospital systems, system terminology, and an operational understanding of the components of the technology that support a hospital system.
  • Minimum associates degree, bachelors preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience in health care systems. EPIC Certification a plus.
  • Must be able to handle multiple and conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to write crystal reports helpful.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively by phone or in person with a diverse group of external and internal customers.
  • Knowledge of hospital revenue cycle functions required. Includes but not limited to, Health Information, Patient Access, Patient Registration, Patient Billing.
  • Knowledge of On Base, 3M, and EPIC systems preferred.
  • Some travel may be required.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: *

  • Responsible to plan, implementation, testing, and training to ensure successful and financially sound technological investment.
  • Acts as a computer resource for all applications used in Revenue Cycle departments.
  • Analyzes, develops, and maintains procedures and other systems that satisfy the needs of the business services departments.
  • Develops clear and concise documentation and training manuals.
  • Participate in information system implementations and upgrades through the adaptation of software design, system configuration, planning pilot, and evaluation for productive use.
  • Responsible to document and track required fixes, enhancements, and testing.
  • Required to maintain up-to-date knowledge of HFAP (AOA) standards, management and healthcare issues and trends, and legal implications.
  • Act as a liaison between physicians, information services, and patient business services.
  • Other duties as assigned.
