SUMMARY: The Sanitation Technician is responsible for maintaining sanitation of bottling lines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Using common maintenance machine and hand tools.
Remove, clean and reassemble plant equipment and conveyors.
Must maintain maintenance records of equipment in accordance with cleaning program.
Monitor wastewater system.
Follow lock-out/Tag-out procedures.
Consider all safety precautions and proper isolation of live circuits.
Take proper care of tools and equipment.
Utilize personal safety procedures when performing job duties, ensure that equipment is operating safety and has returned all safety guards.
After training, may be required to handle hazardous waste accumulation. Temporary job assignments to other shifts and/or departments may be required to maintain production.
Work with hot water, pressure washers and steam systems.
Must maintain a clean, safe and orderly work area. Responsible for food product quality and safety.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
Technical or trade school courses or certification a plus.
Must be proficient in use of hand held tools, such as hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, etc.
Must have general knowledge of electrical test equipment such as multi-meters and ammeters.
Good writing, reading. Comprehension and oral communication sills are necessary.
Must be proficient in the operation of equipment, such as scissor lifts, forklifts and electric lifts. Valid Class C drivers
Must have working knowledge of personal computers.
Job involves being on the feet most of the time with considerable lifting, pulling and carrying.
Frequently, incumbent may have to crawl over or under equipment to clean, Duties are performed with some exposure to noise, lubricants, chemicals and occasionally hot or cold working conditions.
Must be able to work every weekend, overtime as required.
Must be able to occasionally lift a minimum of 50 pounds or occasionally with assistance lift items weighing up to 100 pounds. Must be able to work well with co-workers.
