Who are we hiring?
This role is responsible for leading custom research, asset valuation, vendor relations, and overall sponsorship market analysis for Madison Square Garden Entertainments’ Marketing Partnerships & Premium division. This role partners with Data & Analytics and Marketing Partnerships & Premium leadership on developing and implementing the strategic vision of the team into all phases of the MSGE Marketing Partnerships & Premium sales cycle across all of MSG Sports and Entertainment properties. This includes creating prospecting reports to assist in outreach to potential clients in emerging categories and new verticals (Premium sales, esports, Moynihan Train Hall etc.), providing actionable recaps of partner performance with a focus on developing tools and processes that will enable more real-time feedback over time, and supporting renewal and upselling across client-base. The role will be a key strategic voice supporting the department and will lead D&A efforts around key projects including new asset valuation and sales pitches around high-value assets. The role will be responsible for overseeing analysis and developing actionable insights from data sources like TV-ratings, syndicated survey platforms, social media metrics, linear and online sponsorship asset exposure, as well as general and sponsorship market analysis tools to meet the research needs of the department. The role will partner with the broader Data & Analytics team as appropriate in better supporting the team’s needs (e.g., Consumer Insights on survey/research methodology, Digital Analytics on Social media insights and reporting). Through leveraging a combination of research expertise, data sources, as well as external vendor relationships this person is responsible for increasing operational efficiencies and leading data-driven story-telling across all Marketing Partnership verticals, highlighting the competitive advantage the MSG platform can bring to brands. This role reports into the Vice President, Business Operations & Insights.

What will you do?
- Lead and manage the workflow of all data and analytics projects with the emphasis of including data-driven narratives that support all parts of the Marketing Partnership & Premium sales cycle
- Lead in the development of research approaches, capabilities, and support efforts for emerging MSG properties to achieve their overall revenue goals.
- Primary research liaison between Account Management executives, New Business sales, and Property Leads, with a focus to provide essential strategic research support
- Development of pricing, packaging, and rate-carding methodologies designed to accelerate revenue growth valuations - this includes the use of multiple partnership analysis tools that would be used to inform real-time proposal development and white space opportunities
- Manage and continue to evaluate third party vendor relationships including: sourcing, evaluation, contract negotiation, project management, reporting and budget oversight to support key business priorities
- Partner with Data & Analytics to empower Marketing Partnerships team to utilize and leverage relevant internal and external tools in day to day work
- Develop and leverage relationships with NBA and NHL offices to implement strategic recommendations for best-in-class approaches to track, measure against and enhance innovation tactics on all partner KPIs/objectives and asset valuation with the Account Management team
- Utilize knowledge of P&L structures and levers to provide strategic input Marketing Partnerships team on how to optimize revenues and costs, especially in dynamic consumer research field.
What do you need to succeed?
- Minimum Experience: 6+ years in professional sports or media with extensive experience in sponsorship measurement, managing third-party vendor relations, research and sales solutions development
- Significant experience with valuation principles and modeling, from the sports and media industries, with the ability to leverage data into elevated storytelling capabilities that are tactics needed to optimize partnership sales and retention strategies
- Highly proficient in media sales metrics including: Ratings, share, cost per thousand, cost per point, etc.; as well as advertising measurement tools including: Scarborough, Nielsen, Repucom, etc.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with a proven ability to concisely articulate data insights to colleagues (including senior executives), craft and deliver presentations to drive partnership growth and new sales
- Intellectual curiosity, with an analytical mind. Possesses a self-starter and strong work ethic
- Detail-oriented with the capacity to excel in a fast-paced, matrixed environment in order to meet deadlines for multiple stakeholders
