Job description
Responsible for material handling and processing, including receiving, picking, and shipping material. This encompasses physically moving material, managing paperwork, and processing transactions in computerized inventory system. Performs other department duties as demand and staffing requires. Position requires excellent accuracy and attention to detail. International shipping experience a plus!
Duties & Responsibilities
- Work within company guidelines to receive, pick, pack and ship materials
- Transfer material to internal locations and external warehouses
- Receive field, inventory and non-inventory material
- Process material transactions in computerized inventory control system (NetSuite)
- Keep a clean and organized work area
- Perform cycle counts; perform physical to perpetual inventory counts
- Load and unload trucks
- Keep neat and organized files
- Maintain shipping, receiving and warehouse supplies
- Participate in the training of new and or temporary employees
- Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of warehouse
- Obtains quotes and insures best small package, pallet, and truck rates available. Both Domestic and International
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Knowledge of general warehousing practices
- Ability to use computer based office productivity tools (e.g., MS Office suite)
- Ability to use computer-based ERP system (e.g., NetSuite) for inventory management and work planning.
- Ability to work with accuracy, precision and completeness when performing inventory transactions and processing. Must meet established department standards for accuracy & completeness.
- Ability to work independently to generate and process daily work.
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Skilled use of forklift and other material handling equipment
- Focus on safe working practices
- Ability to use standard set of tools
- Good math, verbal and written communication skills
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Two years related experience and/or training.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. Must be able to safely use material handling equipment, including but not limited to: forklift, ladders, wrapping equipment, pallet jacks, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Forklift operation experience a plus
Working Conditions:
- This position is a mix of computer work and warehouse work, including physical movement of material in a warehouse environment.
- Normal working hours Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend or off-hours work required.
