Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician (2nd Shift)
Job Location: Houston, TX 77030
Job Type: 3 Months - Contract

Evening shift | 8 hour shift starting at 2pm. Workdays: Mon-Fri or Tues-Sat.

Responsibilities:

• Provides all tasks associated with sterile processing within the surgical, hospital and clinic settings.
• Candidates must have strong decontamination experience and experience working with case carts
• Impacts the efficient sterilization of instruments utilized in patient care.
• Cleans, assembles, sterilizes and dispenses instrumentation/trays to needed areas. Maintains instrumentation in optimal working condition for daily use.
• Verifies that correct cleaning/sterilization procedures are being followed as specified by manufacturer.
• Inspects instrumentation for signs of wear and tear. Identifies and forwards items in need of repair to Sterile Processing Coordinator.
• Coordinates with nurse manager concerning special daily instrumentation/tray needs.

• Collaborates with Sterile Processing Coordinator for adequate daily supply needs. Maintains minimal PAR levels and notifies coordinator for order needs.
• Assists with resolution of instrumentation/equipment problems in the operation room. Assists with orientation of new employees.

Education Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Diploma from an approved Sterile Processing Program.

Experience Required:

• One year hospital-based sterile processing experience.
• Diploma from an approved Sterile Processing Program.

License Preferred:

• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) by the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materials Management (IAHCSMM) or
• Certified Sterile Processing Distribution Technician (CSPDT) by the Certification Board of Sterile Processing and Distribution, Inc. (CBSPD)

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

• Surgical/Hospital/Clinic: 4 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Certified Registered Central Service Technician(CRCST/CSPDT) (Preferred)
