Overview:
Join our Workforce Development Program Area as a Technical Assistance Consultant, Adult Education.
The Technical Assistance (TA) Consultant will join our Adult Education Research and Technical Assistance Center (AERTAC) team within the larger portfolio of AIR's Workforce Development and Education program areas. The TA Consultant will work on projects across a number of technical assistance federal and state adult education and workforce development projects. Experience with developing and implementing IET programming is strongly sought for this position. The TA Consultant will also be participating in business development activities including proposal development and professional networking activities.

The ideal candidate will have the knowledge and skill to:
  • translate research and evidence into TA materials,
  • develop and support all aspects of adult basic education technical assistance including materials development (i.e., facilitation guides, content webinars on various relevant topics, training curriculum), and
  • provide training and coaching support to adult education professionals.
Candidates hired for the position may work remotely within the U.S. or from one of our U.S. office locations.

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities for the position include:

  • Translating research and best practices into policy development and TA implementation tools and materials.
  • Creating high-level action plans to implement TA solutions.
  • Overseeing the development of implementation guides, tutorials, train-the-trainer guides, and other “how to” materials.
  • Designing, developing, and implementing onsite and virtual training and technical assistance throughout the United States.
  • Working with a diverse team, managing project tasks, technical expertise, and supervision of project staff.
  • Reviewing, analyzing, and synthesizing information using appropriate practices and techniques.
  • Disseminating findings through publication of papers, progress and technical reports and presentation of seminars.
  • Acting as an advisory resource to provide comprehensive information, teaching and technical assistance to grantee sites.
  • Evaluating effectiveness of services being provided and makes recommendations for change as needed or warranted.
Qualifications:

Education, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in education or related field required.
  • 5-10 years of experience in adult education and workforce/career pathways programming required.
  • Experience in Integrated Education Training (IET) strongly preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in the development and delivery of professional development and TA and project/program management required.
  • Ability to engage professionally with a large number of stakeholders including AIR staff, consultant facilitators, clients and event participants.
  • Must be able to coordinate and execute complex tasks and engage with both internal and external stakeholders to complete tasks.
  • Proficiency and experience developing online professional development events and training.
  • Excellent team collaboration, communication and customer service skills and behaviors.
Candidates will be asked to provide samples of professional development or technical assistance facilitation and materials.
