Job description
Parks/Cacapon Resort State Park/Morgan County Under general supervision of the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent, this employee will be responsible for the planning, organizing, and operation of programs in the promotion and sales of Cacapon Resort State Park lodging and conferencing facilities. Essential duties of this position are to establish, develop, and maintain a portfolio of contacts with travel agents, tour brokers, travel associations, motor coach operators, meeting and wedding planners, and businesses, as well as social, military, educational, religious, and fraternal groups, in order to market and sell Cacapon Resort State Park lodging and conference facilities.
This employee will actively solicit group, transient and/or banquet business through actively seeking out new group business, dealing with customer inquiries through face-to-face contact, over the phone or via email; this employee will contact prospective customers and discuss their requirements, quote and negotiate prices, confirm written contracts, working with different Park departments and Group Services Liaisons to ensure that all details of the contract were delivered and guests depart satisfied; the employee will be required to travel and will participate in local and regional tradeshows, conventions and promotional events, promoting and marketing Cacapon Resort State Park, and the park’s lodge, cabins, and conferencing facilities.
This employee must offer consistent professional hospitality, ensure prompt and courteous service, be available for overnight and day travel, be highly organized and detail oriented, must be able to write comprehensive reports and proposals, and ensure the achievement of the sales objectives on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Employee must also become proficient with RoomMaster property management software system, phone system, wireless internet system, computer systems, and conferencing equipment. Performs related duties as assigned. Regular attendance is required.
Training: Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university. OR
Substitution: Experience as described below may substitute for the required training at a rate of one (1) year of experience for every thirty semester hours of required training.
AND
Experience: Two (2) years of full-time or part-time equivalent paid experience in travel promotion or marketing with a travel agency, arts/crafts marketing, business/industry marketing, hotel management, restaurant lead work and/or management, golf/spa management, recreation/natural resource marketing, or related travel or marketing business.
OR
Substitution: One (1) year of the required experience will be waived if the four-year degree is in tourism, marketing, or hotel management.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25,147.00 - $46,521.00 per year
