Role Overview:
Under direct supervision of the Senior Manager of Training & Development, the Training and Development (T&D) Specialist's role is to create and deliver training, learning and development solutions -in-person and online- to employees at various levels and locations. This individual is responsible for coordinating, designing, delivering, and assessing training and development courses, programs, and curriculums. The T&D Specialist actively contributes to the on-going creation and execution of Mark-Taylor's training and development initiatives (such as orientation, onboarding, role-specific and hands-on training, professional development) to ensure that all members of the Mark-Taylor family have the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to succeed at any stage of their career, in alignment with business goals and organizational needs. The Work You'll Do:
  • Serves as an instructor/facilitator to deliver engaging in-person classes, courses, programs and/or train-the-trainer, which ensure learning is impactful and personalized, and aligns with key employee milestones, such as onboarding, career development, leadership, and promotion.
  • Designs and develops training courses (in-person and online) and materials, which may include Facilitator Guides, Participant Guides, PowerPoint presentations, Quick Reference Guides, and Job Aids.
  • Partners closely with T&D/HR team, Business Leaders and relevant stakeholders to assess needs, develop learning solutions, and deliver training to improve the performance of individuals, teams, and leaders across the organization, in order to deliver our MT 5-Star experiences.
  • Maintains records on the learning management system to ensure efficient delivery of training, error-free reporting, and a 5-star learner experience for all MT employees.
  • Utilizes the department's email inbox effectively to provide excellent service to employees, stakeholders and vendors.
  • Plans and coordinates end-to-end necessary activities, such as scheduling, room booking, food ordering, to ensure excellent delivery of in-person training.
  • Creates and runs engagement campaigns which supports T&D initiatives to create momentum and connectivity across the organization, along with opportunities for higher learning impact and social learning.
  • Develops learner assessment instruments, maintaining documentations and curriculums, ensuring employees have acquired the necessary abilities post-training.
  • Measures the effectiveness of training solutions that have been implemented, identifies gaps and opportunities in on-going curriculums and addresses with creativity and innovation.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional departments, internal and external stakeholders for on-going training and development and overall employee engagement and retention efforts.
  • Supports the building of structures, policies, and workflows to ensure that all training and development initiatives are impactful and best-in-class.
  • Participates in various training and development, human resources initiatives and projects as requested.
  • Effectively communicates and drives brand values and philosophy through all human resources, and training and development activities.

Key Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience working in a customer facing and /or customer service environment, for an organization with field-based operations and teams. . Experience in luxury customer service and environment will be a plus.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience actively contributing to the training and development, mentoring or coaching of team members. Previous experience writing training courses, creating curriculums and instructing classes will be preferred.
  • Management experience is especially desirable..
  • Excellent communicator, with outstanding verbal and written communication skills is a must.
  • Professional presence and ability to communicate professionally at all levels is a must.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to change, paired with a genuine personal fulfillment from supporting people is a must.
  • Strong executor and team player with the ability to help and contribute to team's efforts, while also being able to work well independently and with autonomy, managing time efficiently.
  • Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects simultaneously and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills paired with high attention to detail is a must.
  • Goal-oriented, studious contributor who takes extreme ownership and accountability for self and team.
  • Ability to accept and implement feedback quickly while leading by example as a life-long learner.
  • Passionate about learning, training and development and possess an incredible customer service and growth mindset.
  • Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
  • Bilingual (English, Spanish) abilities will be a plus.
  • Any Bachelor's degree and/ or professional certifications will be a plus.

Physical & Working Requirements
  • Will be required to sit at a desk and use a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Will be required to stand for extended periods of time and for multiple days in a row.
  • Will be required to work at various community locations.
  • Requires use of a personal vehicle.


This position is not a remote position. This position does require travel to various communities across the valley to provide support and deliver in-person training courses. Must have reliable transportation and willingness to travel.
