What success looks like in this role:

  • Performs detailed planning, project execution management and schedule tracking of moderate or large service transitions with multiple work steams.

  • Organize, implement, and maintain scheduling management system supporting identified projects and their plans

  • Provide guidance and mentoring for project managers not familiar with MS Project Server to improve individual work steam project plans and to produce an integrated master schedule.

  • Evaluates risks and recommends contingency plans.

  • Manages quality assurance, resolution of issues, status reviews and reporting.

  • Adhere to and ensure compliance with standards, change control, customer support, and compliance with all policies and procedures.

  • Provide timely and comprehensive status reports.

  • Provide advance notifications regarding potential issues before they occur.

  • Ability to effectively facilitate communication with project team members at all levels and management.

  • Document issue resolutions clearly and accurately.

  • Responsible for collecting and integrating scheduling inputs from the client and program contractors to build and maintain a Master Program Schedule

  • Collaborate with the client and Program staff to manage resource loading and leveling in Master Program Schedule

  • Interact with stakeholders to define scope of work to develop and update the Master Program Schedule, cost information, and identification of variances from original plan

  • Evaluate project schedule progress and performance, and identify developing problem areas

  • Analyze critical path and constraints to determine effect of changes to schedule and recommend work-around

  • Assist Program and/or Project managers in conducting analysis for determining alternative courses of action or recovery on slipped schedules.

  • Responsible for program/project schedule analysis and metrics

  • Create informative and visually appealing schedule communications and graphics to present to customers

You will be successful in this role if you have:

  • 3-5 years of proven Microsoft Project experience including experience with maintaining multiple sub-projects within a master project.

  • 2-3 years of proven experience with Microsoft Project Server.

  • Possess a proven track record in maintaining and managing infrastructure services schedules.

  • Ability to assist Project Managers with Experience in scheduling roles and resources therefore experience with resource loading and levelling highly desirable.

  • Experience creating custom fields, views, tables, and reports.

  • Experience using Microsoft Project 2013 and/or 2016

  • Experience using Microsoft Visio/Excel in coordination with Microsoft Project to create custom schedule reports desirable

  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple schedules with critical dependencies in a program management environment of program and project managers

  • Hands-on experience working with project managers to facilitate schedule development

  • Preferred experience in IT Services Transition Scheduling

  • Innovative self-starter with the ability to work effectively with minimum supervision

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong competency with the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Word.

  • PMP Certification – highly desired.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related area, preferably Computer Science or five years of equivalent experience. Relevant certifications for the skills/infrastructure/service area/domain, i.e. PMP certification highly desirable.
