ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Assistant Director for the Lewis & Clark Community Counseling Center reports directly to the Director. The Assistant Director shares responsibilities with the Director for leadership of the Community Counseling Center (referred to as the Clinic) with an emphasis on clinical services, records, and administrative support. The Assistant Director is responsible for the coordination and administrative oversight of clinical services. The Assistant Director oversees the job responsibilities of Center graduate assistants and manages the office in the absence of the Director.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Administrative Oversight:
  • Assists the Director in providing administrative oversight for all counseling services and programs offered by the Clinic.
  • Assumes the Director’s duties in Director’s absence.
  • Chiefly responsible for the coordination of the Clinic’s clinical activities, implementing clinic policies and practices of clinical operations.
  • Assists the Director in establishing and executing decision making processes, and accomplishing effective dissemination of information to administrative staff, clinical supervisors, and clinical trainees.
  • Responsible for the coordination, recruitment, training, supervision, development, and evaluation of 4-7 Clinic Graduate Assistants.
  • Assists clinical supervisors through clinical consultation as needed and at the direction of the Director.
  • Assists in establishing and maintaining appropriate clinical triaging and case assignment practices (e.g., phone screenings, referrals for clients outside Clinic scope of care).
  • Assists in oversight of clinical record keeping including electronic record keeping and scheduling ensuring compliance with professional ethics and pertinent federal and state laws.
  • Assists the Director in periodically reviewing the Clinic’s mission and role within the graduate school.
  • Assists in the preparation and distribution of counseling information regarding Center’s programs and services to students, faculty, staff and the community.
  • Provide clinical supervision to practicum sections in the absence of a clinical supervisor as assigned by the Director.
  • Assist the Director in managing the daily operations of the Clinic, including facilities and technology resources and processing client fees.
Other Duties:
  • Participates in the Clinic Advisory Committee.
  • Attends department and college meetings as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Licensure:
  • Master’s degree mandatory in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or appropriate human service field.
  • Oregon license as an LPC, LMFT, or LCSW (or licensed within two years of employment)
Knowledge, Skills, Ability:
  • An understanding of student development and counseling and family therapy theories.
  • Ability to apply theory to practice in a community setting is necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, staff, clinical supervisors, and faculty, including active collaboration with appropriate community and business personnel.
  • Demonstrated capacity for clear, cogent communication.
  • Ability to reduce barriers to mental health care in a multicultural environment to provide assessment and clinical care for a diverse client population.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in social justice oriented mental health service delivery.
  • Ability to communicate effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team as well as to key stakeholders in the broader community.
  • Two years of post-graduate clinical experience providing mental health services.
  • Two years of administrative and operational experience in a clinical setting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Graduated from a CACREP or COAMFTE accredited program.

  • Commensurate with experience
