Genius Talent has partnered with a leading Global Med Tech company who is looking for a Director of Finance to join the team. This role will be responsible for the global accounting operations related to general accounting with a specific focus on payroll and fringe benefits. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have experience in full-cycle financial reporting and monitoring control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and utilize forward-looking, predictive models and activity-based financial analyses to provide insight into the organization’s operations and business plans
  • Provide leadership for the finance transformation from influencing during the discussion phase, to development, implementation and overseeing a team to conduct the related training. This will be in the areas of finance process transformation improvement, standardization, and simplification of financial processes towards the development of best-in-class end-to-end financial processes across the company
  • Responsible for financial operations that include but are not limited to:
  • Managing the global accounting, payroll, and accounts payable functions and assisting with other functions as necessary while working with leadership teams located in regions outside of the United States
  • Generate monthly reporting such as financial statements and variance analysis and seek continual process improvement. Team will also be responsible for actively participating in annual financial audits, tax compliance activities, and other projects along with filing required financial and compliance reports where needed
  • Global payroll operations oversight of the US, Europe, and APAC regions, including all compliance requirements per each country. Works closely with accounting and human resources to make sure Ceridian employee payroll and related tasks are completed in an accurate and timely manner
  • Global Accounts Payable assistance for all regions which includes setting up vendors, entering invoices, reviewing employee expense reports, filing all necessary compliance requirements, assisting cash management, and running monthly disbursements for various countries
  • Partner with Financial Planning & Analysis team to ensure proper accounting, variance to budget and forecast analysis, performance metrics development and reporting, and all other financial reporting
  • Responsible for ensuring an appropriate control environment while driving operational efficiency across all responsible areas, strengthening process and control environment, and providing ongoing leadership and functional oversight
  • Continually look at ways to improve process effectiveness and efficiency, while maintaining anticipated results, deadlines, service level agreements (SLA’s), and accuracy
  • Provide subject matter expertise on business requirement definition, process design, implementation of process and organizational change and timing of impacted processes across all work teams
  • Assist in the development of work plans, approaches, and mobilization efforts for each initiative work stream

Requirements

  • Some potential travel to operating countries abroad up to 10%
  • Oversee the accounting department to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems and function; coordinate and guide local in-country financial/administrative staff
  • Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures
  • Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial and management reporting for senior leadership, Board of Directors; assist with the preparation and communication of monthly and annual financial statements
  • Coordinate audits and proper filing of tax returns in US and operating countries where required
  • Oversee monthly payroll processing
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions
  • Oversee employee compensation and benefits including medical, expatriate medical, dental, vision, HSA, and employee retirement plans
  • Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies

Education & Experience

  • BA/BS degree with a Business related major, preferably Accounting with CPA or other Accounting Certification. A Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance is highly preferred
  • Minimum of 10+ years of significant, progressive responsibilities within related finance functional areas managing teams in a business environment
  • Experience working with both local and global resource location to obtain desired outcomes
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills – both written and oral
  • Strong leadership abilities in managing and developing associates, with the ability to create clear goals, foster accountability, and ownership, while encouraging delegation at appropriate levels
  • Ability to transform strategic goals into tactical project plans, including ability to track within defined timelines
