Job Description

RLBA seeks a new mid-level professional to bolster its growing practice. This position is fully remote, but ability to work from Arlington, VA office is a positive. The successful candidate will feature strong written and oral communications and a desire to work closely and cooperatively with a seasoned and highly collegial staff. This position provides an excellent opportunity for gaining significant exposure and experience in the railroad industry and working on a wide array of projects. Some level of professional experience is required, preferably at a railroad, agency or a similar firm in the industry. Project management experience is preferred and an interest in the subject matter is highly attractive. Proficiency in industry specific software including Rail Traffic Controller and USRailImpact is preferred. Proficiency in graphic design with programs such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop is also preferred.

Responsibilities

Management of projects of varying size/scope

Communication with clients throughout life cycle of projects

Leadership role in preparing reports and other deliverables

Delegation of project tasking to other staff members

Provide support to other staff members on various assignments

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field

Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience

Leadership and communication skills

Ability to prioritize and manage various projects at once

Railroad experience/background and general industry knowledge

Ability to effectively delegate tasks to other employees

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office

Ability to learn industry-specific simulation and costing software

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum 3-5 years of management experience in the operating, economics, mechanical, engineering or financial department of a rail company

Proficiency in Adobe CS software such as InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop

Proficiency in industry-specific simulation and costing software
