Summary:

The Milk Receiver role is responsible for performing all temperature and sampling procedures for each incoming load of milk, cleaning out trucks, running clean cycles on milk silo’s, monitoring milk volume, and cream load-outs. Position requires individual to wear harness and climb on top of milk trucks as well as perform sanitation duties which requires donning full-body protective equipment (PPE) and spraying machinery/equipment with a hot sanitizer. . Our milk receivers are expected to develop an expert level knowledge on the functioning and troubleshooting for their machine and/or area.


Employees in this role must be capable of withstanding hot and cold weather conditions and must be comfortable working from heights.


Schedule:

  • Current vacancy is for night shift from 5:00pm-5:30am or 4:00pm-4:30am
  • Leprino Foods is a 24/7 operating facility and the employee must be willing and able to work weekends, holidays, and other shifts as necessary. Our schedules run 12 hours on a 2-2-3 rotation that allows for every other weekend off. After training is complete, new hires will be assigned a regular schedule on the next available shift.

Pay Rate:

  • $23.38/hr
  • $0.75 Evening Pay Differential for every evening hour worked between 3:00pm-6:00am

  • $0.50 Weekend Pay Differential for every hour worked Saturday & Sunday

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all required temperature and sampling procedures for each incoming load of milk according to written guidelines.
  • Connect appropriate hoses from receiving tanks and transfer product to correct silo.
  • Follow established procedures for loading shipments of cream.
  • Operate and assemble milk pumps properly to eliminate product loss.
  • Clean and sanitize all equipment as required by company procedures and maintain housekeeping in this area.
  • Communicate as required with department leadership and milk haulers.
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner while observing all SOP and GMP guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
  • Ability to pass a physical abilities test to assess ability to bend, reach, lift, pull, and climb stairs/ladders as required for the position.
  • Must be able to work Sunday - Saturday, off-shifts, weekends, holidays, and required overtime to support a 24 hour/7 day operation.

Preferred skills:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office products.
  • Familiarity or ability to learn SAP, or similar integrated manufacturing system.
  • Prior food industry experience.

Physical Demands & Environment:

  • This position will be exposed to working in a wet/slippery environment with loud noise in varying degrees of temperature. Must be able to withstand high heat and humidity.
  • Specific vision may be required for this position, including close vision, distance vision, color and depth perception, and the ability to read computer screens for extended time periods.
  • Ability to pass a physical abilities test to assess ability to bend, reach, lift, pull, and climb stairs/ladders.
  • Able to access confined space and work on a platform off the ground.
  • Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs regularly, pull up to 60 lbs, climb up/down stairs, and climb ladders.
