Fox Rent-A-Car (a division of Europcar Mobility Group) is a benchmark for low-cost leisure car rental in the United States and worldwide. Our US market is growing rapidly and significant expansion is underway for 2022-2023.

We seek an experienced Network Engineer in the Los Angeles, CA region. Under the general supervision of the VP of IT, the Network Engineer will need to be able to communicate network-related and security issues in a user-friendly, professional manner. Additionally, the candidate must be able to troubleshoot and remedy network and hardware issues within the infrastructure, including routers, switches, servers, power systems, firewalls, WAN & associated services, as well as cloud-based SaaS and IaaS.

An ability to work independently and collaboratively is essential. This hybrid position will require some presence in our LAX offices. Travel will be required.

You will:

• Develop and demonstrate an understanding of customer and business needs within the Fox infrastructure
• Establish and maintain network performance
• Build network configurations and connections
• Troubleshoot network problems
• Conduct IP address and device auditing
• Establish networking environments by designing system configuration and directing system installation
• Define, document, and enforce system standards
• Maximize performance by monitoring and troubleshooting network problems and outages and scheduling updates/upgrades
• Configure routers, firewalls, switches, APs, and other network devices for optimal performance and security
• Design, configure and optimize wireless data networks for disparate locations
• Collaborate with other IT, network, and security personnel to establish and maintain network architecture strategy and documentation
• Establish and maintain interconnectivity between on-premises systems and public cloud resources
• Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access
• Work with security personnel to investigate security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents
• Take ownership of bringing online assigned expansion sites/locations
• Maintain current knowledge of industry technologies and continually strive to improve understanding of internal operations
• Help with urgent non-network related Service Desk tickets as needed
• Identify, diagnose and resolve issues as reported to the Service Desk either through the Service Desk Portal, via phone, or by email
• Develop an understanding of the Service Desk Portal and resolve tickets as assigned while ensuring proactive communications with all employees/internal customers

Education:

• Higher education degree in IT, CS, MIS, Networking, Cyber Security, or related field

Qualifications/Experience:

• Four years of practical experience with the above duties (including internships & military experience).
• Or three years of experience with multiple applicable certifications (e.g., Network+, Security+, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CCDA, etc.)

Preferred qualifications:

• AWS network architecture experience
• Experience programming Cisco IOS or comparable command-line programming
• Experience with Palo Alto or comparable firewalls
• Experience with Meraki switches & wireless APs
• Experience with wireless configuration systems & tools

Availability/Travel:

• Applicants must be willing to work any day of the year as needed, including weekends (excluding company holidays).
• Travel may be required to any area that Fox Rent a Car services

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
