Job description
  • Coordinate prompt resolution of issues that affect our product at the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) level such as installation of ship short components, replacement of non-conforming parts and/or systems, etcetera
  • Complete consistent and quality service repairs
  • Prioritize, schedule, and organize chassis production repairs as needed at the OEM level
  • Self-check work and inspect prior processes
  • Actively communicate within Spartan RV Chassis and with the OEM on open issues
  • Complete proper forms and documentation; collect and document information on a daily service log spreadsheet, including the complaint, condition, and correction
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Initiate process improvements
  • Communicate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, engineering, materials, purchasing, sales, etcetera) to resolve issues
  • Read and follow detailed operator instructions, installation drawings, blueprints, etcetera, as required
  • Use basic hand, electric, cordless, and pneumatic tools, as required
  • Perform rework, as needed
  • Learn and retain skills and practices needed to complete assigned duties
  • Solve complex problems with minimal assistance
  • Complete reports for travel expenses, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Minimum of two years experience with trouble shooting and repairing chassis mechanical and electrical systems
  • Experience in customer service, various manufacturing settings, and chassis assembly preferred
  • Proven success with systematic problem solving process
  • Possess a CDL, or be willing to obtain

  • Basic computer skills are required

    • Knowledge of chassis components and systems, both mechanical and electrical

    • Organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Able to:
    • Accumulate personal tools and equipment required to perform assigned tasks
    • Work overtime on short notice
    • Embrace change
  • Willing to:
    • Improve self / area / company (including pursuing additional training, if needed)
    • Develop a working knowledge of Spartan’s systems (example: PLEX, Solidworks PDM)
    • Maintain a flexible and extended work schedule as needed to accomplish objectives
