Job Summary

The Analyst Payroll processes timely and accurate payroll and related services for the company, including required recordkeeping and reporting. The Payroll Analyst is accountable for addressing and resolving moderately complex payroll matters and is the second level point of escalation payroll inquires and issues.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage payroll workflow in payroll system to ensure accurate and timely processing of all payroll transactions, such as new hires, terminations, garnishments, relocation payments, incentive payments, severance, etc.
  • Prepare, enter, audit and conduct final review before distributing payroll; research and resolve any issues with the payroll vendor.
  • Maintain and update payroll checklist and process documentations.
  • Handle the administration of the electronic timekeeping system and ensure proper setup of employee information and valid data transfers to/from payroll service
  • Apply proper taxation of earnings and benefits.
  • Partner with the benefits team to research issues that impact employees’ paycheck; analyze impact and determine root cause and take appropriate steps to resolve.
  • Other responsibilities as judgment or necessity dictate

  • Frequently (34-66% of time OR 4-6 hours ) required to reach with hands and arms
  • Occasionally (0-33% of time OR 1-3 hours) required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, and crouch
  • Occasionally (0-33% of time OR 1-3 hours) required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience
  • 2 years’ experience in payroll administration, accounting or human resources
  • Experience with Workforce Time and Attendence Software

Additional Qualifications

  • Excellent attention to detail, confidentiality, collaboration, verbal communication, presentation, organization, decision-making and project management/planning skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills; ability to resolve complex problems by analyzing data
  • Prior experience processing a multi-state payroll
  • Working knowledge of federal, state and local rules regarding payroll administration
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation
  • Payroll experience, preferably SuccessFactors
