Job Summary

The purpose of this position is to, under limited direction, obtain, interpret and prepare information for a wide variety of GIS datasets that can be analyzed and mapped. As a Senior GIS Analyst, you will specialize in utilizing geographic information systems and tools in analyzing spatial data and researching additional data sets that will help to support our clients. This position will work closely with other departments within the organization to provide valuable insights and prepare complex maps containing data relevant to our client’s business.

Job Requirements

· 5+ years of technical experience in the uses and operations of GIS, including the entry, editing and retrieval of geospatial data in GIS databases.

· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major preferably in Geography, Geographic Information systems or related degree/certification

· Advanced proficiency in the ESRI suit (ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, Online)

· Proficiency with basic database concepts using Snowflake and other tools to retrieve data, and tools included but not limited to Alteryx and Tableau

· Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

· Outstanding customer service skills

· Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to work independently.

· Ability to interact with clients in a professional manner, identifying needs and delivering on-time.

Job Responsibilities

  • Consult with internal and external clients to define project requirements and determine overall objectives, data requests and sources, deliverables and mapping/reporting requirements.
  • Organize and maintain data sets and project documentation in network folders and data warehouse.
  • Extract demographic, labor and other information from a variety of sources, analyze and accurately represent it in maps and reports.
  • Lead with analysis, research, design, testing, and implementation of all mapping tools, templates, standards and software.
  • Serve as technical lead for the spatial enablement of the business’ GIS projects; evaluate and identify data needs; conduct analysis and identify solutions for GIS projects; and perform technical GIS work to meet project requirements.
  • Perform GIS Data management by implementing methodologies and policies that adhere to Cresa IT policies regarding data protection and management during the creation, maintenance, conversion and use of spatial and tabular GIS datasets.
  • Conduct scopes of work and pricing for specialized assignments pertaining to GIS.
  • Stay informed and ahead of GIS software and data trends along with best practices in the geospatial arena.
